Emily has over 15 years’ credit and market risk experience working for investment banks in the City in London. She was most recently Head of Credit & Market Risk for a wholesale Shariah-compliant investment bank.
Emily started her risk management career as a debt and credit ratings advisor and went on to gain experience in credit ratings, capital markets risk, optimal capital structures, capital adequacy and risk policies and procedures. As a credit analyst, she covered the capital markets sectors of Commodities, Treasury, Asset Finance, Structured and Project Finance.
Emily’s role in a Shariah-compliant investment bank provided first-hand experience of establishing and implementing risk policies and procedures, risk management of a Shariah-compliant portfolio and transaction structuring.
In recent years she has focused on helping clients to understand the financial implications of project plans, the impact of changing underlying budget assumptions and the potential to achieve a desired financial outcome by changing the balance of a portfolio.

In addition to her risk management work, Emily has gained experience working in the third sector. Emily helped to set up and run the local community library and is also Trustee and Treasurer for another local charity, Largo Communities Together. Emily has successfully applied for grant funding from different sources and has gained hands on experience in setting up and running a charity and getting to grips with the relevant regulations.
